Zonta Club of Annapolis

Who We Are

The Zonta Club of Annapolis, an officially chartered club of Zonta International, works to advance the status of women locally and worldwide through service and advocacy.

We offer the opportunity to achieve personal and professional growth in a nurturing and supporting environment.  The Annapolis Club was the 58th club chartered by Zonta International February 16, 1929.  Zonta Annapolis works to advance the status of women worldwide through financial support for local service projects and scholarships, as well as through Zonta International Foundation Programs. 

• Zonta International, established in 1919, consists of 1,249 clubs with 32,600 members within 67 countries.
  
  
• There are 32 districts throughout the countries.
  
  
• The Zonta Club of Annapolis, located in District 3, is comprised of 38 clubs in the five states of Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
  
  
• Zonta International and its clubs are nonsectarian and nonpartisan.

Our Mission

• To improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local level through service and advocacy.

• To promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
  
  
• To be united internationally to foster high ethical standards, to implement service programs, and to provide mutual support and fellowship for members who serve their communities, their nations, and the world.

The Zonta Symbols

ZONTA is derived from the Sioux Indian language and means "Honest and Trustworthy."

The ZONTA emblem is a composite of Indian symbols representing this concept: "Banded Together for a Purpose."
